anonymous paining on facebook. police will not describe the threat but they say that most serious threats would not be posted if advance on popular online forums. they are not taking any chances with student safety so there are police officers on campus right now. >> happening right now, grief counselors after at a san jose hospital helping students cope with the death of a student killed by a caltrain. the 6-year-old was killed on tuesday near pedestrian crossing south of his station. family and friends are taking part in a vigil. james was a budding musician and posted this video online playing the guitar. his principal said he was everyone's friend. the medical examiner has ruled the death an accident. >> two oakland city council lovers could face more investigations after an audit found serious ethics violations accused of trying to influence

things from multimillion dollar contract those parking tickets. abc7 news reporter, cornell bernard, is live at city hall. >> it is spelled out in an ought nature accuses council members of using their power to influence construction contracts for the city. well will hear from one of the council members in a moment. the 40-page audit accuses oakland city council member larry reid and brooks of interviewing with major construction projects of two teen centers and construction at the oakland army base by trying to award a bid to turner construction. the audit says that both broke a city law that prevents elected city officials from telling city workers what to do. the contract was never awarded to turner, the case is serious. councilman reed says that it is lie and the auditor says it is about playing by the rules. >> this report strikes right at the integrity of oakland

government. citizens and businesses should be able to live and transact business in a city they know plays by the rules. >> i have never threatened any city staff person regarding their job. i have been an elected official for 16 years and a staff person in the city of oakland for another 14 years. out of 30 years of being an employee of the city of oakland suddenly, now, city staff is afraid of me? i don't think that is the case. >> an aide to the councilman named, that person tried to use their influence to fix a pack -- parking ticket. the allegation has been forwarded to the district attorney in alameda. it is not clear if charges will be filed. the mayor is troubled about the report and will have something to say in a few hours. we have reached out to the

councilman and she has not responded. >> happening right now, golden gate bridge officials hold a hearing to talk about raising the speed limit at the toll plaza. they want to increase the recommended speed from five miles per hour to 25 miles per hour as part of the switch to all electronic toll collection. officials say it would increase traffic flow on the bridge. the new speed would go into affect on wednesday, when the new electronic system goes online. >> a major milestone for "the rock" the 50th anniversary of the closing of alcatraz. here is a look across the bay, clear views. it closed in 1963 and now is a major tourist destination during 29 years of operation it held some of america's most notorious criminals including al capone.

>> happening now in southern california, a landslide is blocking northbound traffic along pacific coast highway. caltran officials believe it was caused by dirt that was saturated when a hose was left on bringing down trees, bushes, and lawn furniture. crews cleaning up the mess right now and expect to have all northbound lanes re-opened this evening. >> we have break news from santa cruz. the district attorney has announced criminal charges against a young woman who lied about being raped on the uc santa cruz campus. the 20-year-old woman from santa barbara has been charged with giving false information to police. investigators say she originally told them two months ago that she was walking on a campus trail and she was beaten and assaulted. a campus-wide alert was issued and a sketch of a suspect was released based on her description which proved to be false. >> president obama is covering a lot ground in the middle east today traveling from jerusalem to the west bank and back.

on to supreme court cases. >> big changes in yosemite, wanting to ban horses, bicycles, and raft rentals in yosemite valley. crews would remove the pool from the hotel and yosemite lodge and the ice rink at another village. $235 million plan is meant to restore the national setting. officials will discuss the plan at a public meeting in san francisco tonight from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the for the mason center. >> walmart will be offer a smarter way to shop. the company is expanding the pilot program called "scan and go" seen in this video provided to us by walmart and lets customers scan items by using an app on the smartphone as they shop. shoppers see a running total of the items and use a self check out when leaving the store the program is expanding from 70 walmarts to more than 200 across the country including several locations in san jose.

have more sunshine that yesterday. the temperatures are 66 in san jose today, most of the santa clara valley in the mid-to-upper 60's and up the peninsula, we drop counsel to 59 at millbrae and you will be cooler because of a breeze coming in all the way through san bruno and upper 50's and near 60 in downtown, south san francisco, and low-to-mid 60's in the north bay valley but the beep is brick and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50's and let to mid-60's along the east bay shore with san leandro and oakland at 64 and east bay valley is warmer with concord and brentwood the warm spot at 68. around the state it is quiet, 48 in tahoe, upper 60's to low 70's through the central valley and through that, there will be a stiff north wind. as you head to palm springs it is 90. back home, it will be cooler than this morning with a full night of cloudless skies and the
